One of our two leavers’ who did not achieve their points based target is a Paralympic athlete. During his time at Blackfriars we managed to secure a Supported Internship with Loughborough University where he has been able to support on their Graduate programme. He has also achieved Silver at the world athletic championships.

Our other student who didn’t achieve their target joined us late in year 12 as he had initially attended a mainstream college but they did not meet his needs resulting in him not attending. We worked closely with him providing him with a personalised time table and working with parents to ensure he did attend. This resulted in him achieving Literacy at Level 1 Maths at Level 2 and Food and Photography at Level 1. This Student could have become a NEET without the intervention and intensive support he received.
