WoW Introduction

At Newfriars College it is our role to get students work ready and give them as much experience of the world of work as possible and help them to develop the skills they need to progress into employment. The key to success is getting to know each student, finding out their strengths and sourcing work placements that will suit their and the employers’ needs.

Our students are supported at their placements by our dedicated staff and we make sure that all measures are put in place to encourage as much independence as possible within their work placement.

Students participate in work related and employability sessions and events throughout the year.

We have a large number of employers and businesses to help us provide a wide range of work placements, either as day or week opportunities, who are all keen to help our students to develop the skills necessary to enter the work place.

We are having great success at Newfriars in getting our students to access work experience placements and supported internships so that they can progress onto paid employment. Proving that young disabled young people CAN and WANT to work. We are providing employers with reliable, enthusiastic workers who not only work hard but bring enthusiasm and dedication into the workplace

If you know of anyone who would consider offering an experience of work to one of our students please do not hesitate to contact the college on the main reception line 01782 987180 and we would love to speak to you.
